What data do we collect?

About you, as an account holder: your email address (for login and order confirmations) and, if you create a dog profile: the name, photo, breed, birth date, chip number, medical notes, personality notes, and/or address you enter for your dog. You decide, field by field, whether each is visible to a finder — nothing is shown by default.

Contact details: the name and phone number of any contacts you add, so a finder can reach them.

When you place an order: your shipping name and address (needed to deliver it) and your order details. We never see or store payment details (card numbers etc.) ourselves — those are handled entirely by Stripe.

Finder-page scans: when someone taps "show contact info," we log only the timestamp of that tap against the relevant tag — never the finder's identity, location, or IP address.

What do we use your data for?

To run your account and dog profiles, to process and ship orders, to keep you updated on order status, and to prevent abuse of our services (e.g. blocking automated abuse via rate limiting). We don't use your data for marketing and we don't send promotional emails.

Who do we share data with?

Only the parties we need to make Kwispel work:

• Supabase — hosts our database, login system, and file storage. Your data is stored on Supabase servers within the EU.
• Stripe — processes payments.
• PostNL — delivers your order (receives only your name and address).
• Resend — sends transactional emails (e.g. order status updates).

Our database is hosted within the EU. Stripe and Resend may process data outside the EU as well; where that happens, it's always under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We never sell your data to third parties.

How long do we keep data?

For as long as your account exists. Order data is additionally kept for as long as the law requires of us (tax record-keeping obligations). If you delete your account or a dog profile, we delete the associated data, except whatever we're legally required to retain.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, restrict or object to processing, and request data portability. For your dog profiles, you can usually handle most of this directly in your account; for anything else, email info@kwispel.net. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or your own country's equivalent.

Cookies & local storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The site only uses functional browser storage: to keep you signed in, to temporarily save a tag design while you're ordering, and to remember your language preference on the pages that use it. No cookie banner is needed for this, since it's strictly necessary technical storage.
